“Non Personal Information” is information that is not personally identifiable to you and that we automatically collect when you access the Application.
“Personally Identifiable Information” is non-public information that is personally identifiable to you and obtained in order for the Application to work. Personally Identifiable Information may include information such as your name, email address, and other related information that you provide to us or that we obtain about you.
1. What information does the Application obtain and how is it used?
You are not required to provide the Application with any Personally Identifiable Information as a user.
When you use the Application, the following Non Personal Information is collected:
- Public IP address and ISP info using a public geocoding API. This information is used to sort test results by IP address.
This information is kept local and is never transmitted to third parties outside the scope of the communication with the the external APIs.
A Mac App Store receipt is sent to a remote server for validation. This is to ensure that the user is using an authentic copy of the app.
2. Does the Application collect location information of the device?
The Application does not collect any information about the location of your device. The geocoding information is based solely on the external IP address.
3. Do third parties see and/or have access to information obtained by the Application?
The Application does not share any Personally Identifiable Information with third parties. If the Application is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, you will be notified via email and/or a prominent notice on our Web site of any change in ownership or uses of this information, as well as any choices you may have regarding this information.
4. What are my opt-out rights?
You can stop the collection of Non Personal Information by the Application easily by uninstalling the Application. You may use the standard uninstall processes as may be available as part of your system. If you wish the IP information data that was collected on your behalf to be deleted from the public API servers, please contact support with the IP address in question and we will do our best to fulfill your request.
5. Data Retention Policy
The Application does not control the data on the user system. The user is free to delete all local data using the appropriate procedures on the system. The public APIs in use have different data retention policies that can be viewed on their respective websites.
We are concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. We provide physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect information we process and maintain. Please be aware that, although we endeavor provide reasonable security for information we process and maintain, no security system can prevent all potential security breaches.
